What is the e-myth?
E stands for entrepreneur. The entrepreneur myth is that people who set up small
businesses are fully fledged entrepreneurs who know who to build a successful
business. In fact many business owners have little knowledge or training
on business management.
Where did the name e-myth come from?
It was created by Michael Gerber who wrote the book of
this name.
What does e-myth recommend?
There are 5 key principles:
- Your business is there to make bring you a better life – not
to suck your life dry.
- The business owner has to learn the skills of business management.
- The key skill is working ON the business rather than IN it.
- This involves developing systems that produce good business results.
- You do this by following a continuous 3 step process of systems
innovation.
