Network Marketing Systems
Robert Kiyosaki defines network marketing as buying into and becoming part of an existing business system. It is also known as ‘multilevel marketing’.
Essentially you act as a self employed sales person or ‘distributor’ for the network marketing company. You usually earn money by making sales and by recruiting other distributors who make sales. In effect the network marketing company outsources their sales department to distributors rather than employing an internal sales force.
At first Kiyosaki was suspicious of network marketing. However, after further research, and also after seeing several friends become successful with this sort of business, he changed his mind.
There are several advantages with network marketing compared to starting your own business from scratch:
- You are buying into a tried and tested success formula. You do of course need to carry out your own research into the track record and success of any network marketing system you consider joining.
- The cost of entry is usually much lower than starting your own business.
- The company usually handles many of the day to day business tasks and this leaves you free to focus on building your business and making sales.
Also, networking often enables you to earn passive or residual income. Robert Kiyosaki says that true success in network marketing is when your time and hard work in the short term results in building a significant long term passive income.
It’s also an excellent way to learn about business systems. Learning about systems and building passive income helps you get over to the right hand side of the cash flow quadrant.
