Here’s my understanding of the site build it success formula for
making money from web sites. It’s a four step solution: C to T
to P to M. C stands for content, T stands for traffic,
P is for pre-sell and M is for money.
I’ll set it out in brief and then give you a link to an article
that goes into a bit more detail.
Content – the site build it strategy is based
on the idea of providing useful information or ‘content’ on
interesting topics – a bit like this web site (hopefully!).
Traffic – to make money you have to attract
visitors or ‘traffic’ to your web site to read your articles.
The right content (step 1) will gain you more traffic (step 2).
Pre-sell – when visitors arrive at your web
site site build it recommends that you provide information rather
than making a quick sales pitch. You ‘pre-sell’ rather
than hard sell.
Money – if you get the first three steps right
then your web site will make money. In particular if thousands of
readers come to your web site there are many ways to earn revenue.
However, if no one ever sees your site then you’ll make nothing.
